Its been two full years since the battle in Fake Karakura Town, Soul Society and Aizen's elite Arrancar met face to face with a gruesome outcome. Despite their best attempts at defeating Aizen before any casualties could be had, Soul Society lost many Captains and Lieutenants. Nearly all of them had fallen that day, but some managed to survive. Among these Captain's are Shunsui, Ukitake, and Unohana, who were promoted to Division Zero. Byakuya and Soifon survived with injuries, which were healed before Unohana left for her new home, and Hitsugaya survived with some emotional trauma. However among those casualties were Ichigo and nearly all of the Vizard, the three that survived left Karakura to explore the world. Finding it too depressing to stay in such a place without their family.

Now in order to stop Aizen's rampage and protect not only Soul Society, but Karakura town as well, the Head Commander and Kisuke had come up with a plan. They would place both a sealing Bakudo, and mechanism on him. After being weakened by Ichigo in their fight to the death, it triggered and forced him into a gold plated oval disc, a lock placed over it and multiple binding Kidou. It was strong enough to hold the man, the seal was thrown into the deepest part of the Maggots nest with multiple guards and security systems placed around it. However it would not remain there in peace, with the decision to promote a Captain to Fifth Division, Hinamori became rather upset with being overlooked after everything she had been through and done for the Squad. She began training in secret, learning more Kidou, including a Forbidden, and reaching near Bankai status. Her goal to release Aizen from his prison, attempting to create a way in order to destroy the seal he was placed in.

While evading the radar completely, Soul Society began to rebuild and replace the Captain's they lost. Division 12 separated from Research and Development, Mayuri going with it. Kisuke convinced Yamamoto to allow him to return, with new information on modified Arrancar, Aizen, and the rise of the Murmur there was much to be done. However Soul Society was not the only ones affected by this fight, Kisho Haruo and his organization within the human world was also badly damaged, after losing to Aizen in a one on one the Vizard completely disappeared. No confirmation of his death or survival, leaving Hidenseido in the care of his daughter.

The Murmur's continue to trouble the human world, although missing Captain's, Soul Society has been able to hold them back. Their first invasion merely a scouting party to test the resistance of Shinigami, Valentia's true attack has yet to begin. She continues to build her army for the upcoming invasion.

In the sands of Hueco Mundo a power struggle has begun between Hollow, all wanting to be King of Las Noches and destroying nearly half the fortress in the process they attempt to rebuild the Espada. Halibel left the group after Aizen's betrayal and wanders on her own, Szayel, Zommari, and Aaroneiro also fled the fortress to escape death. They too wander the ever-lasting desert of Hueco Mundo.

Lives have been changed dramatically, and many fight for survival, power, good, and evil.
