BNT Second Art Contest

Art Contest Procedure:

At the beginning of each month, the month's art contest topic will be posted. Each contest will have a theme and a designated artistic media (Sketch, Digital, Text, Graphic, etc) that will be accepted. Once the topic is posted we will begin taking submissions.

All submissions can be pmed to myself up until the deadline. Really, I expect links to the sites in which you upload the works. The sites I would prefer to see are Photobucket and Deviant Art because a lot of other sites tend to spam advertisements. I will NOT deny any submissions, but if they do not meet the theme or art medium requirements they will be graded as such.

A deadline will be posted saying when all works should be submitted by. Usually the contests will last a single month, but there is the possibility that it may be extended. The week following the deadline will be devoted to judges grading the works.

The grading process will work as is about to be described. I, personally, will take all the submitted works and upload them to a Photobucket account devoted to these competitions. From there I will send the judges a link to the photobucket account so that they can observe the works. They will have a grading sheet that will be described below. They will grade and then pm the grades back to me and I will put them into Excel which will calculus both the total points and average points. People will earn places based on total points, first place to highest number of points.

BNT Art Contest Two

Theme:
Bleach Original Character; Those entering the contest must create a work of art that includes a character owned by another person. The artwork must focus on the character. For those creating artworks based on Renders, a render that looks similar to the character in question counts.

Bonuses Theme: Spring

Art Medium: Any; If you consider it artwork and you can fit it to meet the theme, then it's allowed. Some ideas will be found below.

Maximum # of Submissions: None

Rewards: For this the Second Art contest, the reward will be a Custom Ability or Weapon for a single character. The ability or weapon must be approved, but this reward lets the character automatically claim it. However, the upper tier staff must agree that the ability isn’t too powerful. Ask if this confuses you.

Deadline: Last Day of February at the earlier, Last Day of March at the latest

Rules:

• All submissions must meet the criteria above. Those that fail to do so will be graded accordingly.
  
• All submissions must be pmed to Kyouzou.
  
• All submissions must be your own work. Renders are an exception.
  
• Please Keep all works smaller than 600 x 600. If you are unable to, please contact me prior to submission.
  
• No bribing the judges.
  
• Only the artist of a work may show others his or her work during this contest. Anyone showing off other person’s work during the contest will receive punishment.
  
• Please keep this thread clear of unnecessary post.
  
• Please do not make fun of or insult the works of others

All accepted judges will get a pm from a staff saying that they were chosen! All staff will get a score sheet near the submission deadline!

Judging Criteria:

Judges will grade upon the following areas –

Creativity – Is the work unique? Does the artist use unusual designs and tools to get the job done? Does it make you think, ‘I never would have thought to do that.’

Quality – Is the work pleasing to the eyes? Does it elicit a specific response or is it just chaos thrown together?

Effort – Is it clear the artist put time into the work? Did they just draw a stick figure? Did they pull out an old work done years ago? Did they copy and paste another work?

Criteria – Does the Artist meet the theme that we are asking for? Does he or she follow the rules?

Bonus – Did the artist make an attempt at the bonus listed above? If not, bonus points will not be rewarded.

Art Medium Ideas:

The Following are all ideas for types of submissions –

• Graphic – Take a render and photoshop and create some form of graphic, signature, avatar, etc.
  
• Drawing – Pencil and Paper, then scanner.
  
• CG – For the digital savvy
  
• Chalk – Like Drawing, but with Chalk or charcoal
  
• Photography – Go out and take a picture, just remember to explain how it meets the Theme.
  
• Music – Create a song and submit it to an upload site
  
• Flash – Flash game? Flash Animation?
  
• Story – Type up a story
  
• Post – Create a decent looking post

The deadline for this, the BNT Second Art Contest, will be the last day of March.Those with at least a hint of artistic talent should consider entering. We do not care if the work is made specifically for the contest or if you use a work lying around somewhere.
