Tsukasa knew that he had much to learn when it came to hand-to-hand combat. He was too inexperienced at this. The best way to get better, however, was through first-hand experience. Regular people no longer cut it for him. Even if they did exceed his abilities, which the average student couldn’t, he could easily activate the ‘Bestial Takeover’ to gain the upper hand. In order to refine his hand-to-hand abilities, he would have to practice against Hollow, in order to make sure that he could actually combat efficiently against these monsters. They had much larger bodies and much more physical strength and sometimes, even speed, so they were much harder to defeat. If all Tsukasa did was practice against other people, he could still end up doing poorly against a Hollow given their raw physical prowess.
Keeping that in mind, Tsukasa decided that there was no other solution but to go out there and toy around with a weaker Hollow to get acclimated to their physical structure and the way they fight. Of course, different Hollow fought differently, especially depending upon their unique abilities, but, for the most part, they relied on their physical abilities to tear apart humans. Tsukasa had waited until sundown, lurking around the Karasu River for one of those Hollow. They typically frequented the river for some odd reason, making it a perfect place for Tsukasa to find one and essentially bully it. Soon enough, Tsukasa heard the shrill cry that was the trademark of the masked beasts, turning around as he saw it in all its glory. It was a typical one, nothing special about it. Its body was insectoid, like a praying mantis, and it had a large white mask as usual.
Getting prepared, Tsukasa simply grinned as he concentrated, causing his reiatsu to flush around him as the crimson red aura enveloped his entirety. “Alright then…let’s get this started…” Tsukasa thought to himself as he simply waited for the monster to attack. Today was specially for avoiding the enemy. The monster gave out a fierce roar as it crawled toward Tsukasa, drawing back one arm and bringing its right arm up, swinging it downward as Tsukasa widened his eyes to make sure he was able to distinguish its path. He was going to waste as little movement as he could. He sidestepped the attack, immediately eyeing the Hollow’s other arm. It had drawn its left arm to the side, swinging sideways toward where Tsukasa’s waist would be. Jumping upward, Tsukasa simply landed on the Hollow’s scythe-arm as he jumped off, kicking the Hollow in the face.
“Is that the best you can do, moron?” Tsukasa shouted, provoking the Hollow as it gave out another roar before running towards Tsukasa once again, attempt to just ram into him. Tsukasa managed to move to the side, taking one decent jump in order to move out of the Hollow’s path, giving it a strong kick to the leg as the Hollow let loose another cry in pain. Immediately following through, however, the Hollow proceeded to throw one of its arms at Tsukasa, simply swinging both arms inwards to where he was. Running in, Tsukasa was able to avoid the scythe-arms and move closer to the monster. Cocking his arm back, Tsukasa let it loose forward, sinking it straight into the monster’s abdomen as it took a few steps backward, retreating for a bit before attacking again.
It was a lot harder to return an actual physical attack since they had much larger limbs by comparison, so Tsukasa had to consistently avoid and then take a few extra steps to return an attack. It was much different for people. If someone threw a fist and he used his head to avoid it, he could immediately throw a jab or even a swing to potentially knock out the opponent, but not in this case. Tsukasa was doing well for now, but that was only because the monster was predictable. These things weren’t very intelligent, or not the ones he had seen anyway, so it would be, without a doubt, difficult for him to fight against one of them should he find a smarter one to fight against. However, for now, he was fine. He would continue messing around with this one and just get used to having large objects thrown at him.
Tsukasa continued on for quite awhile, repeatedly defending against the monster. He was, however, cut a few times. The large limbs were difficult to move when they were consecutively thrown at him. The monster had managed to step up its game and swung more frequently, and Tsukasa’s arms had a few cuts as proof of its hard work. His clothes were cut and torn and small amounts of blood were flowing from his body. “I’ve had enough of this…” He eventually said to the Hollow as he let loose a roar, temporarily stunning the monster as Tsukasa jumped onto its arm, running along as he drew his left arm back. Finding himself in front of his opponent, Tsukasa swung his arm downward at its mask, causing it to scream one last time before dissipating into nothing. Satisfied, Tsukasa went home. There would be quite the use of rubbing alcohol tonight…
