OBSCURITY HAS NO HERO. . . A infinite void of onyx laid before Taiga's pools of sweet maple, the entire city of Karakura was shrouded in a cloak of the purest ebony. The earth smelled of wet dew, the air of lilies combined with sake lingered heavily around the area, the sweet scent seemed to wrap itself around Taiga's nose making itself more pronounced. A soft piddle paddle of footsteps could faintly be heard, tapping upon the dampened terrain, such a rhythmic melody created a bewitching siren to the ears of those who wandered too close. It was twilight, the hour late and Taiga had just awaken from a nap, she had slept outside the border of Karakura town so she could feel the comforts of the drizzle, that still fell to the earth. Heading back she sluggishly gave a yawn. A hand crept to the top of her head and scratched the unkempt locks of ginger that was soaked because of the rain.
"It's late, moms gonna be mad but it's a long way back home. guess I should start already!"
Sighing as she spoke to herself upon the midnight hour, Taiga entered the city limits a soft continuous flow of heavens tears unwarily blanketed the damp earth, falling onto the streets. The onyx sky was devoid of any light, it was as if the devil himself stole the moon to allow darkness to reign. The walk was log, and boring but at least she had the rain she thought, but how was she gonna explain her coming home so late to her mom?
'I should skip class tomorrow, and just sleep.'
Taiga said as she cut through an alley adored with clutters of trash, and small debris. A yawn escaped her parted lips once more as she keep a steady pace. Abruptly the rain descent quickened, the rains hard thuds creating a bewitching chime worthy of the finest hymns to God. Stopping for a moment Taiga looked up upon the dismal sky letting the rain hit her face. However this did not discomfort her, but rather made her smile and relaxed her. It was like the was her personal serenity- a treat from the Gods made especially for her. Raising her arms she rubbed her hands through her wet hair mixing the rain water in further.
"This feels good, too bad Im almost there!"

There was something about the rain that just attracted Shimesu. The golden-haired boy sat, clad in black, underneath the rain, enjoying the way the small droplets of water splashed against his scalp caressingly, soothing him to his core. His uniform was lightly dampened by the magnificent tears of the sky that he took pleasure in. He was quite glad that it had started raining when it did. It was another night shift in the world of the living, Karakura Town to be more specific, time being spent waiting for nothing but Hollow and demons. Yup, demons. The androgynous boy always wondered what it'd be like if Soul Society ever got into it with the populace of Hell, and here it was happening; a clash between worlds that were worlds apart -- metaphorically and literally speaking.
Sitting on the back of a bench along the sidewalk, directly below the fluorescent, orange glow of a street lamp, Shimesu patiently played out the rest of his shift. Although he was here to protect, he looked like a predator with the dramatic silhouette the light gave him, masking his most prominent features. Even some of the Hollow in the area were afraid to purposely reveal themselves. His spiritual pressure was concealed very low, but that didn't stop them from cowering in fear from just the mere sight of his being. He left the ones that he could sense were trying to hide or avoid him. The only ones he dealt with were the ones that attacked humans or Plus, the ones he was 'obligated' to dispatch, or by chance, the odd unlucky one that got dragged into the gender indefinite boy's sick, sadistic sense of humor. But he didn't do that often. It had its way of scaring him, but not in the way one would, normally, automatically be able to think. His uncontrollable lust during those moments wasn't what concerned him, it was the fact that it didn't scare him that did.
Faint footsteps and the voice of a little girl could be heard, bringing the boy's main focus off of the rain and across the street, where he, indeed, saw a little girl. She looked to be around eight... but then again, if she was, why was she out so late? The street lights went on hours ago, and the dark, dank streets of Karakura, during the night, weren't for children. Shimesu wasn't one to act like much of an authority figure. If he was, he'd probably stay put where he was, sparing a lecture because the girl wasn't dead. It wasn't under his jurisdiction to handle the girl on that level, but he did see fit to do something else.
A mischievous grin claimed most of his face, devilish intent written all over. In the blink of an eye, he was gone, seemingly carried off by a recent gust of wind. Just that fast, he was, now, on the other side of the street with the girl, creeping quietly behind her. Getting nearer and nearer with every step he took, when he was so close that the girl could almost feel him there, he poked her in the back. Not hard, but with just enough force to notice.
Expecting a shocking jump, Shimesu didn't think the girl would be the type to see spirits. He was going to have fun, teasing her with unexplainable taps and nudges, wrecking her mind even further with the fact that she was alone on the street. How evil was he to do this to someone who he believed to be eight? Well, he couldn't have been that bad. It was all for the love of fun, in the end. Besides, it wasn't like he couldn't take care of her if something were to go extremely wrong. He wasn't called a 'death god' for nothing.

OBSCURITY HAS NO HERO. . .
The soft pattering of the rain continued with it's abrasive descent hitting the trash littered ground of the confining alley. The moons shimmer gaze, barely able to make it's way into the dark recesses of the ebony shrouded like corridors. The walls seem to enclose upon her tiny vessel as she began to walk again, her mind at ease. The rain always calmed her spirit, and even though she was young, Taiga really liked the dark. Something about its serene sky, and quiet atmosphere appealed to her. Her pools of refined maple spotted the exit of the alley, but abruptly a sudden finger was pushed into her back. Ginger locks whipped past her soaked face as her eyes spotted a person.
A boy, maybe girl. He had brilliant golden hair, and his skin was a smooth tan, the person was dressed in black, a katana at there hip. Who exactly was this person, there figure was androgynous, so she couldn't discern what gender they were, but one thing was sure, there weren't normal.
"What the hell are you doing pervert? And whats with the weird outfit?"
Taiga ranted at the complete stranger her abrasive personality getting the best of her as she demanded an answer from the person stranding in front of her.

[yellow]"Hmm?"[/yellow]
The gender indefinite male's snickering would reduce to somewhat of a pout, his fun ruined by the girl's ability to see ghosts. Karakura just wasn't like it used to be. The boy remembered the time when only Kurosaki Ichigo's group of ryoka could see the happenings beyond the material world, but things rapidly changed after numerous events that were likely to make lasting impressions on the history books. Since Aizen did what no other being had before, and turned a battle that originally began between Shinigami into one between two different dimensions, the overexertion of spiritual pressure undoubtedly had its effect on most of the humans within the city limits. Not everyone and their mother had increased spiritual awareness, but the blonde-haired Shinigami knew there were a couple families out there that, now, hid a secret.
[yellow]"There's an obvious difference between perversion and just having fun, nee-chan,"[/yellow] Shimesu joked, standing at his full height, his signature grin returning to his lips. His voice also sounded very feminine, giving away false evidence of the male actually being a female. [yellow]"... And, weird outfit?"[/yellow] He inquired, moving over to the side of the alley they had just exited, leaning up against its wall with his arms folded across his chest, observing the girl with his luminous, jade orbs. For someone who held no knowledge of the infamous shihakushō the Shinigami wore, she sure didn't show any fear of seeing one for the first time, but then again, who ever found Shimesu daunting at first sight? The gender-twisted male was one of the most fragile-looking of his kind; maybe borderline soft and tough as perceived by others. Some saw small females with comfortable attitudes as a sign of enormous potential hidden underneath a sweet veil, but not all treaded so lightly.
[yellow]"You've never come across a Shinigami before, have you?"[/yellow]

OBSCURITY HAS NO HERO. . .
The girl seemed disappointed in a sense, the kept walking as the weird female spoke, she then leaned against a wall. Turning around to face the girl Taiga also had her arms folded.
" So it's fun to poke a young girl while she's walking the streets alone at night? And yeah it's weird, don't you see what your wearing?"
A soft giggle escaped her parted lips as well as a bit of spite from her first words . Why was this weird women walking the streets, and why would she even poke Taiga? Pressing this thought Taiga however could not surmise a definite reason. Maybe she'd ask exactly why! What exactly was she doing anyway? Pools of maple were transfixed upon the women who had yet to give her name.
"A shinigami? What the hell is that? A cosplay group?"
Taiga snickered, was this girl loony or something. Man Karakura had some weirdo's. Taiga thought as she waited for the females reply. It was late, but her mom was more than likely knocked out form the hard days work.

Shimesu chuckled at the girl's blunder, understanding what she meant because of his own interest in the modern day crowd. It was nice to find she had a sense of humor, and it was comforting to interact with a human that didn't run or buckle in fear when in the presence of a spirit, but he knew she truly didn't understand, so he'd tell her. He didn't see any harm in revealing what he was to a 'living' being. It was better a human found out about Shinigami, first hand, rather than to see them leaping from rooftop to rooftop, battling against real live 'boogiemen,' known as the Hollow, anyway.
"Oh no. We're nothing like those clowns."
The androgynous male replied, performing a waving gesture with his right hand before folding it back across his chest. The girl not knowing how deep the force that she mocked went was laughable. She'd experience it herself, one day, but for now, he'd give her the general details.
"We're 'gods of death.' We roam the world of the living, clad in black, transporting the souls of the dead to the 'other side.' "
The boy's right arm dropped to his side as his left gently tugged at the chest of his uniform. "These garments I'm wearing are authentic. Real stuff goes down in these," the blonde Shinigami alleged, jokingly. "Think of me as the Grim Reaper, and this little thing here--" The boy reached across his body with his right hand, nonchalantly unsheathing his Zanpakutō. "--As my scythe," he concluded his last sentence, revealing Kyōgien's black and silver, twenty inch blade to the young girl. Shimesu knew how to communicate with humans well enough to describe the inhuman ways of the Shinigami in the simplest form. The most this girl could do was merely not believe him, but it wouldn't prove to be hard to show her a demonstration of what he was talking about, should she ask for one.
"But enough about all that. What's your name, and why're you out so late? Aren't your parents worried about you?"
The gender indefinite male sheathed his wakizashi as he spoke, his tone taking a slight turn from sarcastic and playful to a bit concerned; far less than, but the way he was 'trained' to act when encountering one of the living. He didn't like being an authority figure in front of the humans. That's what they had police for, no? If anything, he'd leave the parent role for the rest of his kin while he played the more laid back position. Things went smoother that way, he supposed.
