Dalj was almost to the end of the Senki gate, excited to be in the real world again after so many years. He wondered what had changed. He had heard the new music was pretty insane, he thought if his mission permitted the time he would check it out.
The mission he was on was a short noticed deal. Something about a Vasto Lorde plotting the growth of a hollow army, He was told he would get it once he was in Karakura town. He was now at the end of the pathway and he stepped though the gate as it opened to let him though. He emerged in the sky of the town. Excited to see it, tall towers of steel and glass lined the sky, and off in the distance strange houses, made in unfamiliar styles. He looked around to get a general feel of the town, and then decided to start his mission. All he was told was a hollow army was going to start filtering into the town. So he was to fight against it.
At that moment he noticed a hollow's Reitsu near a river in the distance, and got instantly excited to fight. He drew his blade, and rushed over as fast as he could. At the rivers shore, near a small boating dock. A large scorpion like hollow was chasing the soul of what appeared to be a fishermen. "HADO 4. Byakurai" as the white lighting struck the ground the hollow stopped in its path. giving the soul time to escape. Dalj fell to the ground kneeling with his sword stuck in the ground.
"I am Dalj Thorn, 3rd squad. And Ima slay the shit outta you." The scorpion stilled, and now hestitated before rushing Dalj, its stinker being brandished like a blade set to kill.

The scorpion turned to look at the fool who had separated him from his meal, seething with anger. He wasn't sure whether the shinigami knew what he had gotten himself into but he was going to show him. You don't mess with a hollows meal and think you can get away with it, the scorpion despised shinigami. He would become powerful so that he could slaughter all that crossed his path and leave a trail of blood behind him. He would kill this shinigami for getting in his way and then become more powerful because of it.
The scorpion lunged his stinger at Dalj who had so boastfully introduced himself, hoping to impale him and watch him writhe in pain. However, if the attack missed he would merely swing his tail in whichever direction Dalj decided to evade to. He didn't know how strong this being was but he figured that Dalj would have merely killed him right away if he was that strong. He didn't care, the stronger he was the stronger the scorpion would become once his soul was devoured and that was it.
"Die!" The scorpion said as his stinger flew at Dalj.

Dalj grinned with delight. "Die?" He questioned, as the scorpions tail rushed though the air. Dalj could tell from the way the tail looked that it was more like a whip then a tail, able to be flung around quickly and effortlessly. So an evasion would be ill advised. Instead Dalj would meet this attack head on.
As the stinger flew towards him, he stood, and took his sword into both hands. And Delivered a mighty downward left slash deflecting the stinger. At the same time he began to rush towards the face of the scorpion, Dalj screamed with the passion of battle as he rushed forward. But, just before he was within striking distance of the scorpions face, he whispered something the scorpion could not hear. And a red cloud of smoke appeared. Dalj then used the cover of the smoke to flash behind the scorpion. He then took a full strength swing from the left at the base of the scorpions tail, hoping to sever it.
If he was successful the scorpion would lose its main mode of attack and the fight would be pretty much over. But Dalj didnt think his first attack would work, so he he kept his feet loose on the ground encase he needed to evade an oncoming counter.

The scorpion watched as his stinger was deflected, anger once more by the shinigami. He was ready for a counter attack though, once again gearing his stinger for a strike. Dalj ran at him but all of a sudden a cloud of red smoke appeared, blocking his sight. He knew what would happen though, it's what always happens and is the most likely form of attack. Rather than focus ahead of him, the scorpion knew the attack would come from behind so he had a surprise waiting for Dalj.
The scorpion didn't know where he would be behind him but he knew he could catch him off guard. The scorpion swung his tail back and forth, to the left and right hoping to hit the shinigami who had tried to catch him off guard with his sneaky tactics. The scorpion then spun around, letting out a loud howl to try and provoke the shinigami so he would be scared and more hesitant to strike.
"I will not die so easy shinigami." The scorpion said as it spotted Dalj once more and charged at him.

Dalj was about to sever the tail, but then the scorpion spun around. And knocked away his blade, and started charging him. Dalj was irritated that he had underestimated the hollows battle competency. It was apparent that this hollow was a little more well traveled then Dalj had anticipated. So cheap strategies like what he had tried wouldn't work. "Okay then hollow. How easily will you die for me on this fine day?!" Dalj said wearing a devilish smirk on his face. He Jumped into the air clear over the scorpion, to avoid the charge and give him a moment to think.
Thats when it struck Dalj, while Dalj was in the air over the scorpion, "HADO 4. Byakurai" This was aimed for the beasts head. And with any luck. Would hit him. After all Dalj was right in the air above his opponent and the hollows was quite bulky. Dalj hoped this meant he wasn't very fast. But Dalj wouldn't knew for sure until the attack played out.
When Dalj landed he was planing on swiping at the tail again. Hoping the lighting would offer him enough distraction to this time sever the tail. So when he landed the first thing he would do was rush the tail and attempt to sever it.

The scorpion watched as Dalj jumped into the air to avoid his charge, which was fine by him. He hadn't expected to make contact with this maneuver anyway but he hadn't expected him to dodge by going into the air. It was even more inconvenient when he heard the words of a kidou being aimed at him, not in the best position to evade. He would have to think quickly and figure out how to get around this situation if he could.
The scorpion didn't have time to come up with an idea to save himself from Dalj's attack so he would just have to take it somehow. At the last moment the scorpion pushed himself forward so that the lightning wouldn't hit him in the head but instead hit him in the back. The scorpion howled in rage at the pain of the attack but he also knew that he was very vulnerable right now and needed to defend himself.
With some slight pain from his wound, the scorpion jumped into the air as a precaution to his tail being targeted even though he didn't know where Dalj was, he did know that it was his most vulnerable spot and without it he would be finished. He didn't have time to play around any longer, he was going to go all out now. The scorpion landed, flailing his stinger around until he got his eyes on Dalj, ready to unleash hell on him.

Dalj grinned with delight as the scorpion howled in anguish at the lighting's strike. He almost wanted to laugh. When he landed he could see the scorpion, flailing in the air and as it landed. He expected another half baked charge of some other strategy typical of a hollow, of this caliber. He figured he could stomp this thing out in a second if he got serious, but he didn't want to fight this thing with his all, it wasn't worth the effort.
So Dalj decided he would mount a simple but effective offense. He began running at the hollow full sprint, 'I can push it back until it loses it footing or balance, then strike' Dalj was only about ten feet away, he extened his right palm and shouted out. "Hado 1, Thrust!" Aiming this right at the scoprions face, he then drew his sword with his left hand and swung it from the left aiming to slash its mask off, or at least remove one of its pincers.
He wondered if the scorpion was hiding anything worth note, but he figured it wouldn't matter if it was, because he was very confident his trump card out weighted the hollows. But only time would tell if it had one at all. So for now he put all his heart into the swing of his blade, and the concentration of his kido!

The scorpion was ready as Dalj began running at him, ready to attack and probably try to kill him but it wouldn't happen. The scorpion was then abruptly pushed back by one of Dalj's kido but that was fine, it only enable him to attack better. Using the distance given by the push, the scorpion quickly shot his stinger out at Dalj, hoping to skewer him through with it. He couldn't afford to get hit by this though, it was no ordinary attack this time.
His stinger was filled with a poison that would paralyze his body, rendering him immobile for a long time, as well as a poison that would increase his sensory abilities, causing him to feel almost three times as much pain as normal. The scorpion was hoping this would hit him, as it would allow him to play with his food a bit before eating him. The stinger of the scorpions tail flew at Dalj, a drop of its poison visibly hanging on the tip.

With the attack he had already began to mount, Dalj instead deflected the attack. As the stinger came towards him, he let the swing of his Katana force the stinger into the ground, it was a good it, and it gave Dalj a great opportunity, he again took to the skies, jumping about 7 feet in the air, he put his sword in between his legs, facing down, hoping to skewer this scorpion right though the head.
Dalj was hoping this would work, he didnt think the stinger would be back for a second at least do to his slashing it into the ground, but the pincers might be employed. So Dalj kept his muscles loss and limber not tense, so he could dodge more easily.

The scorpion was at a huge disadvantage at this point, his stinger having been deflected. The scorpion saw the incoming attack but didn't know how to respond, a little shocked this everything he had tried against this opponent had been a complete failure. All he wanted to do was become strong, was that such a horrible thing that every time he tried he was attacked. "Curse you shinigami!" The hollow shrieked as Dalj's blade crashed through the scorpions skull, blood dripping from its head. The shinigami then began to dissipate, disappearing with having done nothing to save its life.

Dalj landed his blow and smirked, happy he had slain the hollow so adequately. and as it disappeared he began to feel dissatisfied over all, after all. The battle he expected to last a good long while. Just ended in like two minutes. Dalj now felt almost pathetic. "That was pitiful!" Dalj muttered to himself with annoyance.
Then it donned on him, what if the hollow wasnt really dead. YES! this must be some kinda ploy to get him to lower his guard, Dalj figured it would attack from underneath, that disappearing act must have been some kinda ability, a haze created by some airborne form of the scorpions poison. Dalj waited for three minutes, standing still but ready. When no scorpion shot up from the ground, when no armada of tiny scorpions regenerated from some spilled blood or venom. Dalj was both convinced and totally pissed at the same time. "FUCK IT! Im going home!" He said and opened a Senkai gate home. Screw the invasion.
