((OC: Things said by the character Ayaka will be in orange; things said by the hollow will be Purple; Others will be in white))
Part One: Reiatsu –
A week following her previous training sessions, Sayurin was already taking some more time off to train. The only difference this time is that she is really only using her free time to train (She should be eating) and she’s now training at the Squad 5 Barracks. Here she sits in the shade of the tree with her zanpaktou-dagger on her lap. Her eyes are closed, she’s breathing calmly. The wind blows on her skin and she does not acknowledge it. To her the world is quiet for she is in a state of meditation.
‘Is anyone nearby?’ She mentally asked herself as she sensed for any Reiatsu within nearby vicinity. Once she was sure there were no others that would notice, she began to expand her Reiatsu. Larger and larger it went; until it covered most of the courtyard she sat in. She made sure to control the flow of Reiatsu. ‘This is nice. I didn’t know I could go this far!’ She thought as she began to take that Reiatsu and focus it into a smaller package. She restrained it further and further until all she had was a ball of energy sitting on the palm of her hand. She focused on the flow of the Reiatsu and soon the ball appeared in her other hand. ‘Now let’s try something new,’ she said as she started to focus on not one, but both hands. She focused on making the Reiatsu flow move to each of her hands and began to condense the energy that arrived there. Quickly both hands were holding growing orbs of energy. The more Reiatsu that flowed, the more they grew until she ended the flow.
“What are you doing?” Yuri heard a childish voice say. “Senmidori, you know what I’m doing; Reiatsu training.” She responded calmly to her companion. “Oh... Don’t you wanna go play?” Senmidori asked with a curious tone in her voice. “No; like I said, I’m training..” Yuri told her. “What are you doing now?” Senmidori asked Yuri a few minutes later. “I’m still doing Reiatsu training…” Yuri told with a slight bit of irritation in her voice. ‘Okay, now let’s turn these two orbs back into one,’ she thought as she began to focus on flowing Reiatsu from her left hand to her right.
Part Two: Battle One –
“What are you doing?” A voice asked, not Senmidori’s, but that didn’t stop Yuri from saying, “Senmidori why don’t you find something better to do!!!” It was only after saying that that Yuri realized the different voice, prompting to open her eyes. What she saw was a girl, maybe younger than her, standing there with a look of curiosity. The girl had shoulder-length violet hair and purple eyes. She wore the standard Shinigami uniform and had a katana sheathed on her right side. She looked about the same height as Sayurin, but sported a skinnier, curvier figure. Yuri went through her mental archive of Squad 5 members, but was unable to figure out who the girl was.
“I’m so sorry! Um.. Senmidori’s the name of my zanpaktou,” she quickly stated, unsure of how the girl would take being yelled at. The girl tilted her head to the left slightly and showed an expression that seemed to scream ‘I don’t know what you’re talking about, but okay.’ “Oh… um.. You’re Sayurin Momoiro, aren’t you, I’m Ayaka?” Ayaka asked her. “Yea.” Yuri answered. “Hm.. What you were just doing looked pretty cool. I didn’t know unseated Shinigami could do stuff like that!” The girl said with such energy that Yuri wasn’t sure how to match it. “Well…” She thought about it for a moment; normally unseated Shinigami wouldn’t be able to do what she was doing. She didn’t want to tell this girl that, though. Not because she didn’t want the rest of the squad knowing how well she has trained yet, but because the girl seemed really interested in it.
“Can you teach me how to do it!?” Ayaka asked her again, once again with a lot of energy. “Well… you need to train a lot before doing it..” Yuri told her, unsure of how else to respond. “Then will you help me train.. How about we spar! Then you tell me if you can teach me it!” The purple haired girl suggested as if there were no other options. Before Yuri knew it, she was standing at Squad 5’s sparring area. The courtyard that housed the area was protected in case Kido were sent flying through the place. Of course the place gave no protect to those inside the area.
Both girls stood inside the area, both hesitant to take a fighting stance, but aware that such action was necessary. “Please don’t hold back! I’ll let you know when I had enough!” The girl made certain with a smile on her face. ‘She sounds so much like Senmidori.' Yuri considered as she prepared for the spar. Once both girls were ready, they began the fight.
The fight started with both girls rushing towards each other; each with their sealed zanpakto. Yuri’s dagger held off well against Ayaka’s katana, but she knew they were too evenly matched strength-wise to sit there. She took her left hand from the hilt of the dagger and grabbed the Tanto hidden in her sleeve. “Huh!?” Ayaka yelled as she noticed what Yuri had done. The violet haired girl quickly jumped back as Yuri attempted to strike at her. Yuri promptly kicked off her foot towards the girl to try for another strike. Ayaka defended with her katana, but Yuri parried; defending with the dagger, dancing about the katana’s blade and attempting to slash at Ayaka with the Tanto.
“Bakudo 1: Sho!” Ayaka yelled as she used the spell towards the oncoming Tanto. As the spell hit the blade, Yuri’s arm locked at as a result of their collision. Ayaka jumped back saying, “Hado 31: Red Flame Cannon!” It caught Yuri by surprise, she didn’t expect a incantation-less Kido out of the girl. With her arm still locked up, and standing awkwardly as a result of the parry attack she made, Yuri did the only thing she could do and let herself collapse to her left. She went to roll, but messed it up and somehow ended up on her back. Ayaka took no mercy on her and started up the next spell, “Hado 4: Byakurai!..’’Hado 1: Sho!” Yuri used this spell to push herself further to the side, out of the way.
Yuri originally thought the fight would be easy, but it was beginning to appear this girl was far more skilled than she let on. It occurred to Yuri that it probably wasn’t smart going easy on the girl and now she was regretting it for she was the one at a clear disadvantage. While Ayaka adjusted after casting the Kido, Yuri went into the pouch located above her breast and took out 5 shuriken. Still laying on her back, she threw each Shuriken at Ayaka and took the time she used to defend to get grounded again. Once she was up, she was prepared for the next attack. "Ye lord! Mask of flesh and bone, flutter of wings, ye who bears the name of Man! Truth and temperance, upon this sinless wall of dreams unleash but slightly the wrath of your claws." Was the line that Ayaka next chanted, but Yuri responded just as quickly with, "Ol' Green Serpeant Who Descends From Heaven, Gales Erode Thy Pale Skin, and Breezes Replenish Thy Grieving Soul! The Forces Charge to Face The Foe Only to Turn; To Defend The West Wall!" Upon completing her chant, she took the Chakrams and sliced them through the air from opposing shoulders to opposite shoulders. "Hado 33: Sokatsui!''Midorikaze Kabe!" Both girls stated as they released their spells. A blue flame flew from Ayaka while a gust of wind came from Yuri. "Huh?" Yuri's wind made contact with the blue flame, but it didn't do what she expected. Upon the two abilities reaching one-another, the flame struck the wind and cut through it without effort ((Ayaka's Kido Skill is greater than Sayurin's)) Right before it the blue flame hit her, however, suddenly Yuri disappeared. Ayaka looked all over, but she couldn’t find her sparring part; that is until she looked up. “You’re flying!” Ayaka squealed, just realizing Shinigami could perform such a feat as walking on air. ‘She is just like Senmidori!’ Just knowing that was enough to irritate Yuri because she knew there wasn’t a place in her life for another Senmidori personality.
“Look who has the advantage now!” Yuri began saying an incantation, though too low for anyone to hear her. She followed with, “Midorikaze Danmaku!” She took her dagger from one shoulder to the other. In the process she focused on the flow of Reiatsu and wind, forming it into two separate spheres of thrashing wind. Once they were both created, they began to revolve around the dagger’s blade. “Ol' Green Serpeant Who Descends From Heaven, Gales Erode Thy Pale Skin, and Breezes Replenish Thy Grieving Soul! Within the Calm a Beast is Born, Tempt It With Your Lies So It Will Show You Its Fangs!” Ayaka would have stopped her by this point, but she was curious as to what kind of spells these were. Upon finishing this incantation she pointed at two points with her dagger, both near Ayaka’s location. Where she pointed wind channeled. Yuri focused on controlling the wind at the point and quickly, they formed into blades of thrashing wind.
Yuri took advantage of Ayaka’s failure to act (She was too amazed to do anything) and went to swing with her dagger. She knew that by swinging with the dagger, both the spheres of wind and blades of wind would strike the girl, but at the last second the idea that the girl wasn’t defending herself became clear in her mind. As she swung, she diverted the swing and the wind blades and spheres ended up flying towards the wall. “Why’d you do that!?” Ayaka asked her, looking over where the spells hit. Normally while facing someone who could fight like how this girl was fighting just a moment ago, Yuri wouldn’t have held back because she saw it unfair, but on this occasion she couldn’t bring herself to strike the aw-inspired girl. Before she could think about it, another squad member came running into the training area. “Hey, we need a group of Shinigami to go to the Human world. We believe there has been a hollow attack!” Both Yuri and Ayaka looked at each other before rushing out of the training area with the guy.
Part Three: Battle Two –
Yuri now stood in the Human world with a group of Squad members. Each member of the group seemed to have some job going on in detecting where the hollow was. “Where’d Ayaka go?” Yuri asked one of the members in the group that had come to the Human world. “Who? I don’t think we have anyone in the squad by that name..” She was told to her great astonishment. She was certain that was the girl’s name and that the girl had come through the gate with them. Now when Yuri looked, the girl was nowhere to be seen.
“Hey Sayurin, your zanpaktou lets you turn invisible, doesn’t it?” She was asked by one of the group members. “Um, Yea. Want me to go scout?” She asked, knowing her usual duty in missions like these. The guy nod and so Yuri released her Shikai and used Shinobi-iri. With the Shinobi-iri effect in place, she proceeded to move about the city they were in. It wasn’t Karakura, but it may have been a city rather close by. What was on Yuri’s mind at the moment, however, was the fact that she could Shunpo and walk on air without the others of the group knowing. She knew there was a time to show off how much she had improved with her training, but she didn’t want to discourage others by moving up so much in a short time.
Now and then as she jumped around, she would open up the covering to Shinobi-iri. By opening, she’d either open it just slightly, or remove it and reapply it. This was done so that it would wear off when she wanted it to and also so that the hollow would make its way towards her. She knew that those in her group were familiar enough with her abilities to know to move towards her when… ‘Why aren’t they moving closer when I removed it just now?’ Yuri asked herself before she found an answer to the question. She now sensed a hollow in their direction, she wasn’t sure why she couldn’t earlier, but now there was definitely a hollow.
She arrived at the location to find an awfully large hollow. It was two stories high and resembled something like a bull or cow. Below the hollow she could see her fellow squad members all injured or unconscious. The hollow began moving towards the group again and before he could get too close, Yuri prepared to attack. “Disappear in the Wind, Senmidori Tenshi.” Both Chakram were sent flying towards the hollow before they could even be noticed in her hands. Yuri jumped down from the building she was on and placed her sleeve over her face. First the flash bomb Chakram exploded. “What!? I can't see!” The hollow yelled with an understandable language. “Huh!?” The flash bomb was followed by a full power explosion from the next Chakram. Yuri forced as much energy as she could into the Chakram’s explosion resulting in its power being comparable to a Level 50 Hado.
Both Chakram flew back to Sayurin and she quickly ran over to the nearest squad member. “Are you alright!” Yuri asked with a worried expression on her face. With no knowledge of healing techniques, she was ready to do whatever she was asked. “I’m fine! Get away from here, back up will be coming soon!” The Shinigami told her. Yuri looked up to the panicking hollow, still blinded by her flash bombs. “I’ll hold it off till they get here!” Yuri told the other Shinigami before facing the hollow.
“Huh!?.. huh” The hollow looked left to right. “You! Were you the one who blinded me!?” He asked angrily at Sayurin. Sayurin Shunpoed quickly above the Hollow. “I don’t know, did I!?” Yuri send the flash bomb Chakram flying again, once again covering her face as she made it explode. She knew she had to wait longer, because now the blade would be damaged, but she also knew the flash gave her a tremendous advantage.
With no clue as to what type of abilities the hollow could use, Yuri kept her distance by floating above it in the air. Once the Chakram had returned, she positioned both together. She placed one above the other and proceeded to say “Hado 58: Tenran!” She then tapped the inner edge of the top one so that it would start revolving around the middle one. As both Chakram made a fan effect, Yuri focused energy through it and created the whirlwind effect associated with Tenran. “Ah!!! That hurt!!” The spell had cut up the hollow, but he was clearly far from done and completely pissed off.
The hollow attempted to jump up and grab Yuri which prompted her to move to higher grounds. “Get down here and face me!” Yuri obviously stayed where she thought he couldn’t reach, at least until he used his brain. “Come down here or I will crush your friends!” He began walking towards the other squad members. “No!” Yuri shunpoed down to a midpoint between the hollow and the others. “Hehehe. I hope you’re ready to die!” He moved a lot faster than she expected, moving forward and kicking her to the side before she could realize what was going on.
“I haven’t been in an actual fight in a while.” She said as she successfully regained her ground. She was hit again though, right into a nearby building. “How does it feel down here on the ground? Not feeling tough now!?” He went to step on the rubble where Yuri landed, but as his leg went down, she came running up it. With no arms to bat her off, the bull-looking hollow could only thrash, trying for the same effect. “I’m not going to lose to the likes of you!” She said as she ran up close to its head and sent the explosive Chakram flying towards his head. Within seconds she lit it and he was hit with the same force as the first time. He began to wriggle around in pain, knocking Yuri off who quickly moved back in preparation to protect her teammates. The Chakram snapped in half as it made contact with Yuri’s hand. “No!” Yuri yelled as he made his way over to her and the others. “You’re gonna pay for the pain you’ve caused…” He was interrupted for suddenly his body erupted in flames.
((OC: I know it’s rare that even one Lieutenant be sent to the Human World unless a situation is dire. Momo would appear after learning what was happening due to worrying too much and Isane is there because Momo is supposed to be under watch and what better excuse for surveillance than having the medical squad’s Lieutenant come help with a medical situation.
“Are you all alright?” The conscious Shinigami turned to see that Lieutenants Momo Hinamori and Isane were standing behind them. “I’ll see to these ones over here. Momo, do you know how to heal?” Isane asked the short lieutenant. “Yeah, I’ll handle these ones over here.” As Momo made her way over she addressed Yuri, “You did well.” She bowed thankfully to Yuri and proceeded to help heal the wounded.
