((What Sayurin says will be teal; What Senmidori says will be green and what Sayurin thinks will be purple. The second two Kido were approved Here))
Bakudo 30: Shitotsu Sansen.
On this day, Sayurin has returned to her training, continuing from where she left off a couple weeks ago. Unlike the previous training sessions, this time she started a lot later in the day. The sun was already setting in the sky and nightfall was on its way. The training grounds reflected this lateness in time for the ground took on an orange hue and the shadows of the various training tools were evident. Unlike last time, she wasn’t going to go into the forest, but rather, she was going to use the various target posts and training dummies.
“At least I brought a lantern this time,” Sayurin stated as she walked into the training area. “..” Senmidori was about to say something, but was promptly interrupted by her master. “I am not afraid of the dark!” She pointed out with a firm tone. “I was a ninja for crying out loud! How can I be afraid of the dark!?” She confirmed, dismissing any further statements her zanpaktou might say. She then pulled out a piece of paper from the pouch hidden above her chest. The piece of paper was similar to the one from her previous training, the one that held the descriptions of various Kido. She had gone to the library and found a couple more Kido books and copied, with good handwriting, the many spells she was interested in.
“I’ll start with this one,” she stated as she pointed to the first spell listed, Shitotsu Sansen. “And make an equilateral triangle with one finger,” she read out loud as she was reading the spell’s description. It reminded her, just slightly, of a spell that she learned in her prior training sessions. The spell was Midorikaze Danmaku and required that she move her arms in just the right way or the spell didn’t work. This spell would be similar in that she needed to nail the movement perfectly. “Hey, Senmidori, can you use Boryaku again to help me with this." She said to her zanpaktou, recalling how she managed to get Danmaku learned so easily.
A moment later, Yuri suddenly felt as if her body was encased in a block of concrete. It was the effect of Boryaku which allowed Senmidori to use the flow of wind around her body, to manipulate it. “Like this,” the young spirit said as she forced Yuri’s right hand up, while forcing her index finger forward, and proceeded to move it in the shape of a triangle. She did it a couple dozen times, each time making a perfect equilateral triangle. By the time she had finished the motions, Yuri was certain she had had the action down to muscle memory. “Thank you Senmidori…” she was interrupted as her hand was brought up to make the triangle again.
“Focus Reiatsu now,” the zanpaktou spirit stated as she went for another triangle. Sayurin recalled what she learned through previous Kido training, as well during her Reiatsu training. She felt the flow of her Reiatsu and began to force it to flow to the tip of her finger. She tried to get a constant flow at a static level. At first she saw a yellow a thin yellow strip of Reiatsu appear before her, but as she continued to have her hand moved in the triangular fashion, she applied more Reiatsu and it get thicker. When she felt she had the right thickness, she simply dispersed the applied Reiatsu and tried again to get the right thickness in one go. After about 30 minutes of this, she felt she was able to form the triangle without problems.
Senmidori released Yuri from Boryaku and her master proceeded to give the spell a try. She moved her fingers, correctly, in the triangular fashion and formed the golden triangle she had intended to make. Yuri then focused more energy into the points of the triangle. Once she was ready, she swung her hand out towards the target post in front of her, “Bakudo 30: Shitotsu Sansen!” She stated and then watched as the triangular shape shot out three pins at it.
A problem occurred, one pin didn't launch, one flew off to who knows where and the last missed the dummy just slightly. "Probably didn't distribute the energy correctly." She told herself as she tried to remember the flow of Reiatsu prior to the release. She visualized it, hoping to get the feel for it. Once she had the feel, she tried to work out mentally how to balance it. Once she was ready, she tried the spell again. This time one hit the mark while the other two flew off. Once again and all three flew off, but overall they were closer to the mark. Again and two hit the mark while the last hit the tree a bit to the right. Finally she came to one try, “Bakudo 30: Shitotsu Sansen!” She stated and then watched as the triangular shape shot out three pins. This time the pins didn't hit the target dummy, but that's only because of her faulty aim. Two pins shot forward at it while the third shot where it was intended to go, but that led it to the post behind the training dummy. She tried it a couple more times to make sure she had it under control.
A smile lit up on Sayurin’s face as she basked in her present accomplishment, “Thanks a lot Senmidori! I really owe you one.” Senmidori simply frowned because of the statement; obviously Yuri wouldn’t know this. “One Kido down, two more to go!” She stated before looking up to the sky. “I might be able to get them all done before it becomes dark!” She said ecstatically before pulling out the slip of paper again that listed the various Kido she intended to learn.
Suspend.
“Hm.. so in other words, this Kido turns other Kido into time bombs,” Sayurin said to herself as she looked at the second Kido on her slip of paper. The Kido was ‘Suspend’ a Kido of an unknown number. To use it, all she had to do was focus on stopping whatever Kido she casts in its place. ‘It only works on smaller Kido.. Hado 31 and 33 should do then.’ She thought to herself as she sought to create a plan for learning this Kido.
She made her way over to the training dummies. Unlike the target posts in which are made to break once hit, the training dummies are created to sustain the amount of damage stronger Shinigami were able to produce. Once there she quickly went to work by casting one of the previously named Kido.
"Ye lord! Mask of blood and flesh, all creation, flutter of wings, ye who bears the name of Man! Inferno and pandemonium, the sea barrier surges, march on to the south!" She yelled as she prepared made the signature red ball of flame of the technique. Quickly she attempted the most logical way to gather the technique into a sphere; she tried to wrap it in a layer of Reiatsu. As was to be expected by anyone with common sense, the Kido shot forward, hit the layer and exploded. Luckily for her, the layer at least reduced the damage she had sustained.
After pulling out a mirror and rearranging her hair and clothing, cleaning up a bit also, she thought through what had happened. “If making a shell of Reiatsu doesn’t work, then what?” she asked herself. She thought over his various Kido learning sessions and her Reiatsu training. She thought of the part of her Reiatsu training where she was expanding and deflating her Reiatsu. “Maybe instead of trying to catch it, I should try to pull the Reiatsu back and then create the Reiatsu shell.” She said as she thought the process through in much greater detail.
"Ye lord! Mask of blood and flesh, all creation, flutter of wings, ye who bears the name of Man! Inferno and pandemonium, the sea barrier surges, march on to the south!” She prepared to cast the spell again, but right when she felt the familiar burst of energy form into the ball of fire, she quickly focused on her Reiatsu flowing back inwards. The first try resulted in her not pulling back enough and the fireball kept going. She tried again, but she ended up pulling too hard and the fireball dissolved into Reiatsu. Finally she got to a try where she pulled it back so much that the ball had stopped in her hands. With that done she stated the spells name, “Suspend!” and with that, she focused a shell of Reiatsu around the ball of fire. She backed away from it and stood in amazement as she noticed the fireball just float there. Though as aware of her own Reiatsu as she now was, she noticed that the fireball was leaking energy from it. To her it was logical because it needed something to keep it lit and energy was the most logical way. She recalled in the description that it said the final explosion would be weaker, this might have been why.
“Hurray!” she yelled happily as she jumped up happily. However, with those actions, she accidently sent a flow of energy towards the forgotten sphere and detonated. Once again she was forced to clean herself up due to another luckily non-harmful explosion.
Reinforcement.
Yuri looked up to the sky, noticing that the remaining light was beginning to dissolve. “One more and then we’ll head back,” She said as she grabbed the Kido list once more. The next spell listed intrigued her, ‘It reminds me of what happened not long ago when the Hado backfired.’ She stated. She was referring to the fact that the layer she placed around the fireball had reduced some of the damage. The spell she was now reading was ‘Reinforcement’ which increased the defensive property of an article of clothing.
Before trying the spell, she grabbed at her top. She wanted to feel how soft the cloth material was before she tried the spell. She confirmed that the unknown cloth was rather thin, but still kept heat well and was well designed for taking damage. It was no surprise to her, her custom designed training outfit, she had requested it to be made to take serious damage.
“Reinforcement!” she stated as she focused on her flow of Reiatsu entering the article of clothing. She focused on compressing it as it overwhelmed the article of clothing. Once she was satisfied, she touched the piece of the cloth again. To her, it felt somewhat stiffer, “it does feel like it could take a larger blow.” Unlike the previous two Kido, where she was happy upon successfully using them, this one disappointed her. When she planned to learn another Kido, she expected to have to take some time, but instead this one only took a couple minutes to learn.
She once again looked up into the sky; there was still enough light out to see. “I should be able to get back to the barracks before it’s completely dark.” She waited a moment before walking, expecting to hear Senmidori joke about her fear of the dark. When she didn’t hear anything, she just assumed the spirit had fallen asleep. Yuri made her way back to the barracks.
