It seemed Saito fell for Kenji's fake, as the zanpaktou came up it would miss its mark as Saito raised his zanpaktou to stop Kenji's from coming back down, the silver haired shinigami would thrust his sheath at Saito it was an ackward thrust coming at an angle instead of straight forward. It was aimed for Saito's face, using the blunt sheath one could say it was more of a jab with the sheath aiming to strike Saito at the side of the face with it. Kenji would step to the left with his left foot, moving his torso away as he struck wtih his sheath almost one could see it as a hop similar to when a boxer hops to the side of the enemy. Bringing his zanpaktou back down it take too long to recover for him to use it, so he would have to make due with the jab from his sheath. But he was unable to fully escape the reach of Saito's sword, it managed to skin him with the tip slashing open the side of his uniform as well as cutting a minor flesh wound.

Kenji would continue to make distance between him and Saito after the exchange, by taking a few steps back he could feel the sting of the open wound on his side, but at least he knew that he most likely caught Saito as well. It would be no cut but it would be a nice little bump tomorrow morning, the silver haired shinigami chuckled as he felt the moist blood stain the side of his body as minor drops trailed down his side. "Not bad....I guess I misscalculated the reach of your sword"he would admit with the grin still on his face as he kept his hazel eyes on Saito waiting for the next attack, it was afterall Saito's turn to attack.

Everything worked out as planned the man had gotten slashed but had gotten an attack of his own off. A jab to Saito's face would separate the two and as on tended to the bloodied wound at his side the othershook off the mollywhop he just attained from the mans sheathe. After sizing each other up again Saito would make the next move. He would dash forward and thrust forward with his Katana at his adversary.

Kenji waited for Saito's next move, he was rather enjoying this little spar the wide grin on his face would be evident of that though he was now a member of the ninth division, there was still that little part of him that had that eleventh division mentality. When he got himself into a good fight, he just couldn't help but feel excitement and somewhat happy finally Saito was making his move. He was coming with with a quick thrust it seemed, Kenji would have to take advantage and try for a quick counter attack he got into a defensive stance as he waited for Saito to get in close then he moved in just as Saito was in close and was beginning his thrust. Using his sheath he pushed at Saito's katana guinding it away, but at the same time he was stepping to the outside of Saito rather then the inside where his other sword would have a better chance of hitting him.

He was well aware of Saito's other sword, but he wanted to stay on the outside to make it difficult for that other weapon to reach him, Kenji having pushed the katana away and stepping on the outside would now unleash his counter attack. Almost as if ripping off the same move Saito had just pulled on him, he brought his zanpaktou's steel blade over and slash at Saito's side aiming to cut open a gash right below his rib cage. As he did so he would continue to move in the direction he was moving, dashing forward making distance between him and his opponent, once Kenji was at a fair distance he would turn to face Saito now. But this time there was no more waiting, the whole sizing up process was over and Kenji was ready to take this fight to the next level.

He dashed forward as recklessly as he had done earlier, this time he swung his sheath at Saito aiming to strike him on the left shoulder with a downward swing this was meant to impact and bruise Saito's shoulder damaging the muscle. If he succeeded in hitting him he knew that the heavy blow would hinder his opponents movements with that arm, due to the damage shoulder from the direct impact. But if he missed he had his zanpaktou ready for a follow up just incase.

Kenji tried to learn something new from what Saito had just pulled and if Saito had tried the same thing Kenji previously had it would have been applied beautifully for a thrust however it would not have the same effect especially with its timing. Since he'd done it at the beginning of the thrust Saito would already know that he was going to be blocked, not that he hadn't planned for that in any case.

Before Saito planned on making the thrust a feign blow however upon seeing how the man was going about trying to guide his blade away Saito would change up his plan to have a little more fun. As his blade was being guided and the man started walking forward Saito would do the same carefully stepping into the same direction that his blade was being guided with the foot nearest Kenji while pivoting around swiftly with the other. This would basically be a spin that would put him out of reach of Kenji's blade while Saito came around with his wakizashi which would hit nothing because it too would be out of range. It was just an innate protection mechanism Saito could not help but do.

If the man continued with his reckless follow up Saito would bring his Katana back up in the hopes of blocking the swing down, his wakizashi ready for any potential follow up.

So the payback plan failed his zanpaktou missed its mark, but Kenji followed up with his reckless charge bringing his sheath down to hit Saito on the shoulder with a heavy blow. It would be stopped by Saito's defensive tactic, the blow would nonetheless be felt at least the force behind it would Kenji would bend his knees as he struck down. Using this he pushed off his feet and away, swinging his zanpaktou as he did as if to keep Saito away bringing his other hand back while holding his sheath, Kenji gathered his reiatsu around the sheath.

He created a layer around the sheath pretty much to harden it as he looked at Saito with a wide grin on his face, he then started to hop on his tip toes as he looked at Saito keeping his eyes on him always. He was enjoying this spar, it was a constant back and forth between the two but in the end one would gain the upper hand and Kenji believed that time was now he swung his sheath as he took a stance, then he charged at Saito "Hadou number 11! Tsuzuri Raiden!"he called out as the reiatsu around the sheath covnerted into a current of electricity. When he was almost within striking distance he would use the sheath first, but this time in the form of a quick jab at Saito's torso aiming to hit him on the stomach and transfer the current of electricity.

Everything went as planned as they both pretty much ended unscathed from the last volley of attacks. Then Kenji would come forth again empowering his sheathe with a kido spell as he did so. Saito utilized a shunpo to get out of range of the mans blow sheathing his zanpaktou and his Katana. His azure orbs had a friendlier tinge about them now. He gazed at the man before him and began speaking. [Purple]" I think thats enough for today Kenji. It has been a great spar but I've been postponing this paper work long enough. I look forward to meeting you again."[/purple]

As he spoke the words ironically the sun gleamed down upon them stopping the rain that had created the intensity of the mood. With that the purple haired shinigami turned around and began walking away from the man. Leaving him to go about his business. Maybe he even had things of his own to take care of.

His sheathe zoomed by the man as he moved out of the way to avoid the blow, but Kenji was charging right behind it the wide grin on his face with his eyes wide with anticipation as he approached the shinigami ready to follow up with a volley of attacks. When all of a sudden Kenji stopped in his tracks due to the actions taken by Saito, he was choosing to end the fight? Raising a brow Kenji relaxed from his stance knowing that Saito was not one to pull dirty tricks, such as using this to just drop Kenji's guard then attack no that was not like him. The crazed shinigami would merely stay silent as Saito spoke and began to walk away resting his zanpaktou's blade on his right shoulder he stood tehre watching as Saito walked away from him. Kenji tilted his head to the side 'Next time...' he would think in the back of his head as he chuckled lowering his head, the rain had stopped but he was soaking wet. Kenji turned swinging his zanpaktou around a bit before slipping back into its sheathe he then started to walk away the opposite direction of which Saito was walking.
