Sokyoku hill, What a wonderful place, The one large tree standing in the middle of the very top of the hill. It was a good place to think, Relax, Contemplate on a mission. This area few of the reasons Soifon enjoyed coming here to relax, She was sitting under the tree, Nothing much really going on right now, She was happy to finally get a little break from her duties as a captain, She felt like she should be training, However she was not in the mood for some reason, She was thinking about a lot lately for some reason. All she could think about was how she was betrayed by Yourichi. Why would Yourichi betray her that way. Soifon became angry at the though. A thousand thoughts racing through her head in an instant she was enraged. She brought her fist down hard on the ground as the grass kicked up around her hand, There being a simple flat spot in the grass now as she closed her eyes. She was not on the battle field it was OK to show her feelings here right? After all no one was around.
"Why...Why did you leave me here..Betraying me like this....why would you do that to me.." She was talking to her self, The cool breeze running through her hair as she sat there looking up in the clouds looking back on the past, Trying to figure out where it all went wrong. She could not think of where it all started, She only remembered the day that she was betrayed, It dominated her emotions right now, And she hated her self for letting that happen. She stood up her Captain Robes flowing in the wind, Waving with the air that flowed over them near the bottom. She closed her eyes as she felt the wind blow softly against her face, Her hair being blown by the wind as well, A slight smile came across her face as she continued standing there. "I have to admit though..If you had not betrayed me...I might not be what i am today..So..Thank you

"Sokyoku hill is a great place to reflect ehy, Captain?" An unfamiliar voice came from the Captain's immediate behind. It was none other than Barrett Cal, the new third seat of the second division. He felt with him just jumping from unseated to third seat, he'd come to make the change official personally. Barrett kept his hands firmly at his side as his night-sky black Zanpaktou lay well kept by at his side. It bounced ever so often on his way to his Captain.
Having stopped about four feet from Soifon, Barrett closed his eyes letting all the anxiousness leave his body with a simple exhaustion of air. "Hello Captain; I'm Barrett Cal, your new third seat." He plainly stated, allowing the calm breeze to blow by rocking his Shinigami attire. Barrett, even with the help of his personality, was a bit nervous meeting and conversing with his Captain. He'd never think he'd be able to find his Captain so out in the open, so alone, so vulnerable.
Barrett himself was on his way to the great hill himself before he stumbled upon his Captain. He came up here for his usual Sereitei surveillance. Seems like fate had something else in store.

Soifon could not help but jump a bit at hearing a voice coming from behind her, Her hand quickly jumped towards he black Zanpaktou. It was out of its sheath within seconds of the male arriving and coming up from behind her, she quickly pivoted one hundred and eighty degrees to be facing whoever had just come. she suddenly realized that it was not a thread. It was in fact another shinigami. Soifon quickly sheathed her blade as she stared blankly at the male, hearing him say something about being the new third seat of division two. She only continued examining the man before her. How interesting she thought, How would it be that he happened to run into her up here on this day. "You will think of me as a captain and nothing more, Do you understand me?" She stated Harshly, She was often like this with people, Harsh and to the point. She pretty much told this, "Barrett" she did not want to be friends, Only members of the same division, With her being a higher rank as him.

Hmph, it was just as he expected of her. Prude and highly professional. Barrett continued to look on toward her with a blank though serious expression. "Hai, Captain Soifon. I understand." He spoke before he lowering himself, crouching low and standing on the tips of his toes. He had a lot of questions about this division and also about his Captain. Yes, like Soifon he was highly professional, but he had to know who he was working with in order to effectively work with them. With that being said, a lack of thereof would prove to be a liability to the squad.
"Captain Soifon." Barrett paused for a brief second before speaking again, letting the wind blow his short brown hair silently. "What do you expect from me." He blinked, closing his eyes for a few seconds before opening them slowly. It took a hell of a lot more to ask these questions then he thought. He didn't think that the air around his Captain would be so, thick. Barrett himself was a very anti social person himself too but he never think he'd be so... nervous. "From us, your followers." He asked.
And it was a legitimate question. One that would give him an more accurate reading of his Captain's character. One unbridled by stereotypes, word-of-mouth, and documents. He would be able to see, hear for himself. Unfortunately for this question.
There were no right answers... Only wrong ones.

Soifon simply smiled a bit as he said he understood what she was saying, She looked up to the sky feeling the air seem to thicken with nerves. She could tell that this man was nervous, Perhaps he already had heard all about here from documents and word of mouth and other ways. She looked back to him as he said her name out loud, Waiting for a follow up to it, It took a few seconds for him to speak again. Looking directly at him,Her face now more serious as she began to hear the words that flowed from his mouth. She heard him ask the qustion, What does she expect from Him, Her followers? She smirked a bit as she stepped closer to him, Coming withing arms length of the man. Suddenly her Zanpaktou was at his throat, Not threatening to cut it, However intimidating him. "I expect the best from anyone under my command, I expect orders to be executed without hesitation, for them to also be carried out professionally and completely, I do not accept half ass'ed work." She twirled her Zanpaktou around momentarily before it cleanly returned to the sheath, She looked at him waiting to hear what kind of response he has to this.

But... She misread his nervousness or rather the origin of it. Barrett was nervous of their changing of words. Their conflicting, actually synonymous personalities. He was in no was 'scared' of his Captain. He knew what she was about, progress and performance. And how could her squad perform and progress with her killing her members.
Unlikely really.
It was at that time when the blade was at his throat that he was at his most peaceful state of mind throughout the duration of their whole conversation. He smirked, "That's what I'd expect from my Captain. I positive I made the right choice." And with that he sprung up from his position back to his two feet, reaching his peak height of five feet eight inches.
His Captain had acted as he expected or rather how he would have himself. His question portrayed himself as emotional, weak, questioning, and insecure. All of those traits were great liabilities to the success of any mission. Barrett himself would have threatened the life of any member that held them to rid them of them. He glanced over to his Captain. Taking in her strength and beauty.
Barrett was sure that this squad was truly for him and he'd do his best to keep it this way.

She looked up at the man as he toward above her, She despised when people towered above her. Of all the things about her self, Being pretty short was the only thing she hated, everything else was OK with her. She was not a girl that was to crazy about her looks or anything like that, so they did not bother her, as far as clothing goes, she is always in her captain robes. She was not attempting to take the life of her new member, She was simply making sure he understood her. She felt confident that she was superior to anyone under her command. She looked at him once more and began to speak again. "Come with me, No sense in standing around getting nothing accomplished, Work makes you stronger. Being lazy in this squad will get you nothing, Do you understand me?" She asked him this to see how he would respond. She wanted to see if he was going to give her problems later down the road with listening to orders, Or if he would have a hard time dealing with the harshness of her character traits, She was a leader by nature now, not caring who she chopped down in the process of her duties

And he looked down, watching his Captain step up to him and then motion forward. He waited until she was completely past him before he even moved. He stood at attention and waited for her words for he anticipated she would speak again. "Come with me, No sense in standing around getting nothing accomplished, Work makes your strong. Being lazy in this squad will get you nothing, Do you understand me?"
He nodded, bringing his feet outward and stepping forward. He followed closely behind her, though arms length away. "Hai..." He took another pause adjusting himself to his Captain's demeanor even though it wasn't very hard. He stepped precisely in tune and continued, "Captain Soifon."
And they were off, wherever Soifon was taking them. Barrett expected her to give him grunt work or something else trivial. Unfortunately, since he was just recently promoted to third seat he'd like work that would better suit his rank... Training perhaps?

Soifon walked straight down the hill, right into Seireiti not bothering to even slow, she was now going to test her new third seat. Soifon wanted to get a feel for his current ability's and decide what she should have him work on in his free time, she did not believe in rest except for at night. If it is day time and you have nothing to do, She expects you to be training. Soifon slightly looked back over her shoulder a smirk on her face. "See if you can keep up new comer, Nearly no one can." In an instant there where many after images of her, many of them circled around Barret. While a few however followed her in the direction she took off in. She was fast in deed, one of the fastest in Seireiti. She was instantly where she wanted to be, In the training are of Division 2. She would wait to see how quickly he could reach this destination, then attack on his arrival. This was all part of her evaluation process.

And so they walked, briskly he did in the beginning though turning into a faster strut as his Captain sped up. Barrett didn't dare ask where they were going nor even the time of day it was. He was focused and determined to make a good impression on his Captain. I mean hey, if he was going to soon take the Vice Captain's position from that lazy, arrogant Shinigami then he at least needed some clout.
swishswishswishswish
Barrett's eyes focused around him as he heard the sound of a Shunpo, his Captains. The first one caught him off guard as he was late on recognizing the fact that his Captain was even gone. It wasn't until he heard the second, and then the third, and the....
Ten?
Barrett turned his body slight while moving his head to accommodate the need for an increased field of vision. As Barrett looked on at the many after images of his Captain he found a small 'hole' in the images. This wasn't in the least a testament to Soifon's inability. No, it was the fact that she had veered out of her circle of Shunpo and moved in a particular direction because after images stopped appearing that said direction a lot less than other directions.
Barrett quickly Shunpo'd directly in the opposite direction of this 'hole' for it meant that she had went off in that direction first. As he Shunpo'd in hopes of catching his Captain he realized, quickly, that the second division training grounds were in that direction.
And that's where he headed. In less than thirty seconds, Barrett had appeared roughly six feet behind his Captain. He was pretty sure that she had sensed and knew very well where he was. As he touched ground he shifted his weight to the back of his heels. He didn't say anything, he figured what was next.

Suddenly she was gone again, this time no after image was left, why was this? She was no where to be found, she was suddenly behind him her Zanpaktou now in her hand, it was gleaming in the bright light of the evening sun at its highest point above them. Soifon slashed directly diagonal down across Barret's back who would most likely still be turned around, unless he was very well prepared for the attack. Soifon then let her body slide back away from him after the slash to bring up her blade in defense of a counter attack that could come, she had been in many battles and knew how things went. If her attack hit it would only slice his Shinigami Robes. "To slow, you should of been here quicker, UN-acceptable. She smirked at him as she waited for him to decide what to do.

And she was gone.
And just as soon as she was gone, Barrett had let the weight he put into his heels carry him backwards right into Soifon's strike. As he slowly fell backward. he gripped the hilt of his Zanpaktou and pushed downward on it causing the Zanpaktou and Sheathe to come up from it's diagonal resting position to a horizontal position.
From there Barrett pushed backward on his Zanpaktou literally pushing his sheathed Zanpaktou right into the torso of Soifon. Hopefully it'd be able to connect and give them a little more room than Soifon had intended, if not, if he was too slow which he probably was, he'd be sliced across the back barely breaking the skin and ripping into his Shinigami attire.
No matter the outcome Barrett would quickly bring his right foot back past the position of his left to catch his fall. While doing so he'd turn his torso in order to gain stability and also a clear sight on his retreating 'defensive' Captain. He knew his movements were too slow, even if he tried to execute them as quick as possible. And even more so, he knew that Soifon could end this fight whenever she wanted too....
Sigh

Soifon smirked a bit as she saw him leaning back on his heels, Bringing his weight back to be falling. She got annoyed by this because it was a dumb thing to do when you do not know where your opponent is, it also caused he to have to stop her attack, if she would of continued on with the attack then she would of ended up cutting him deeper than intended. "You fool, Why would you fall back when your opponent has just disappeared from sight? your opponent is not going to disappear and end up far away from you, the last thing you want to do is to be falling back wards when he is there ready to attack ninety-nine percent of the time!" She said this in an irritated tone. Suddenly She was clipped by the his sheathed Zanpaktou, this surprised her because she had not been ready for it. Soifon was usually ready for everything and anything, and here this "Barret" Managed to get a slight hit on her. How annoying. She still ended up being about 5 feet back from him, suddenly charging straight forward at him, was now testing something else, but what could it be? She began to come closer and closer threatening for another attack.

After catching himself and correcting his stance, he realized he managed to get a little hit off his Captain. Pathetic. "I leaned back because.... I knew you wouldn't hit me." Barrett said plainly. He knew that he was most likely stepping out of his boundaries with his last comment but he felt that it must be said. His Captain was acting a lot softer than he expected. Yes it was training but no harm would have come from him being cut along the back. A little blood, but nothing some stitches and band-aids couldn't fix.
He faced his Captain and drew his Zanpaktou which took the form of a pitch black dark Daito. It's blade was unusually long, 32cm, and everything from the hilt to the guard to the blade was a smudgy black color. Barrett continued to look on, he grew nervous again this time being because of his earlier comment. Maybe it had been unnecessary and ill place.
No.
It needed to be said, he refused to have a soft, hesitant Captain. In fact, Barrett wanted her to strike him down right now. Knock him out, or make him bleed one way or the other to prove to him the mercilessness he'd heard so much about. With his Zanpaktou, El Kagebouken, drawn he held it in front of him in a vertical position with two hands on the hilt in the traditional Kendo form. Thought his time he pushed his weight and center of gravity into the front of his feet toward his toes.
And he waited.

She watched as he commented on what she said, She simply smirked more upon hearing this a rage growing in her eyes. "What good are you to me and my division if i where to happen to hurt you, You would be worthless and removed from my squad immediately, No Ifs, Ands Or buts." She said all this as she was rushing at him. Soifon watched as he seemed to shift his weight on his toes, She let out a slight sigh as she Shunpoed once more, She was tiring from all the Shunpo, But had a few more uses from it. She this time appeared above him. Looking to come down on him with a powerful kick to the top of the head that would effectively dizzy him, allowing her to finish the fight. Would he be able to defend on time?
